The Rugged Timex Military Watch

By

Although the Timex military watch was created decades ago, it continues to be extremely popular due to its rugged but simple design and great looks. Even though the was looks very much like watches from the 1940s, it actually wasn't even designed until the 1960s. The design is truly timeless and continues to this day. The watch has seen few subtle changes throughout the years such as a slightly larger watch case than the original.
Although the Timex military watch was originally designed to withstand the rigors of military use, civilians quickly came to appreciate the rugged little watch because it can really withstand a lot of abuse. Today, both military personnel and civilians alike enjoy this great watch.
Timex military watches are water resistant and feature a black watch case and black nylon watch band. And if it's dark, you can still tell what time it is since the hands slightly glow in the dark. The Timex military watch is also very easy to clean, so you don't have to worry about getting your dirty while enjoying a day of fishing, hunting, or other outdoors activity. Also, if you ever need to replace the battery, this is easy to do as well since it is very easy to take the back off.
The watches that today go by the name "Timex military watch" are not exact replicas of the originals. There are slight variations to reflect improvements in technology and usability. Most folks will never know the difference though. They still look very much like watches from the 1940s. These watches look spectacular and are perfect for any occasion where rugged attire is needed. Not only that, but Timex military watches are tough enough to last for many years.
The Timex military watch is very utilitarian by design. It's black nylon strap was purposely designed to look like a typical NATO watch strap. Ironically, it actually looks more like the British G10 design. The watch has a low profile crystal that has a slight dome shape. You don't have to worry about scratching your Timex military watch either since the case is made from stainless steel and comes from the factory with an "aged" look. Even if you did scratch it, it would blend right in. This watch, when brand new, already looks like it's seen some action.
It's truly hard to argue that the classic Timex military watch looks great for many occasions and is a fantastic watch to wear for a night out on the town or on a rugged, back-country camping trip. It is just as rugged as the Timex Ironman Triathlon but its smaller design makes it better suited for other uses.
